Elena Walch Pinot Grigio Alto Adige DOC 2016 Review
So often Pinot Grigio is a waste of space when it doesn’t have to be. With too many neutral or terrible examples on offer we miss the forest for the trees. Pinot Grigio can be wonderful and sometimes you have to pay an extra few bucks to get that quality due to the work being done to make it awesome. This bottle is one such awesome example, with a mineral driven core with good weight and ripe pear notes wisping around the glass as is typical of this grape. But what sets this wine apart is the distinct hint of sage soaring atop the other characteristics and an acidity that keeps everything in balance. Go buy this wine and truly get to know Pinot Grigio.
