Dutton-Goldfield Rued Vineyard Chardonnay 2016
Review
Dutton-Goldfield is all about meso/micro climates. They do a great job finding the right spots for their grapes to thrive and this single vineyard Chardonnay is a great example and so worth the price tag. Coming from one of the coolest areas of the Russian River Valley called Green Valley, this wine has the depth one would expect from this region, but the acidity is almost electrifying not allowing any aspect to overwhelm. The result is an amazing wine with lemon rind and ripe pineapple along with a slick saline vibe (like licking a wet rock just pulled from a mountain spring, feel me?). On the palate you get a nice clean aroma of jasmine, dried coconut and some dill. That’s the nice thing about good acidity and alcohol restraint, you get to enjoy all the things!
