Domaine Thierry Mortet Bourgogne Rouge 2016 Review
As rustic as elegance gets, this wine is a great starting point for wines from this famous region. The nose opens with earthy cinnamon stick, licorice and clove. As the wine sees a bit of O2 a little tobacco and tea emerge among aromas of cherry, beetroot and a hint of sweet wood from good oak. The palate is bright, with bracing acidity and significant tannin for Pinot. It’s lean, yet has personality, is under screw cap, and affordable. Enjoy!
