Domaine Pouillon Pét-Nat of Pinot Noir 2022 Review
Alexis and Juliet Pouillon began their winemaking journey as a hobby. They built a house on the frontier of the Columbia River in 2005 and got into making wine for pleasure. Through struggle and hard work the two of them built a business that has taken them on a journey of understanding what kind of wines they really want to make. Ultimately they turned their focus “toward producing wines that excite the senses and express the unique influences of our winegrowing region.” This pétillant natural, pét-nat for short, showcases that Pouillon approach. It is a textured wine for the style with aromas of bruised apples and fresh squeezed pears. The palate has a nice grip to it with pleasant bubbles that gently float to the top. It’s just damn delicious.
