Dogwood & Thistle Shenandoah Valley Cabernet Franc 2022 Review

Dogwood & Thistle is a California-based winery founded by husband and wife team Sandy and Erin. It's named for Dogwood (Erin’s native Virginia state flower) and Thistle (Sandy’s native Scotland national flower). They make great wine in Northern California, but recently returned to the Commonwealth to launch a new line of Virginia wines — and they're hitting it out of the park. Especially with this Cabernet Franc. The nose is fruit-driven with juicy red berry notes accented by pops of green pepper. The palate is so true the variety, showing a medium fruit depth, great savory complexity, and vibrant acidity.
