Great Sangiovese by itself expresses confidence. This is one such wine. 100% Sangiovese, and aged in neutral casks, the winemaker is only asking the wood to influence and soften the structure of the wine - there's no vanilla here - showcasing pure Sangiovese. The nose is inviting and vibrant, with the classic varietal aromas of sour cherries and plum fruit and an underlying earthy tone. The tannin in this wine is so well balanced you almost don’t even know it’s there. For $22, this is one hell of a steal.
