Clos Pegase Hommage Mitsukos Vineyard Chardonnay 2016 Review
The average alcohol level of a wine is 13.5%, as this level rises, especially in a white, it is harder and harder to find subtlety. Also, as this level rises, it’s harder and harder to pair a wine with food. Coming from one of the coolest climates in Napa this may have been a conscious decision to go against this. Therefore this Chardonnay, clocking in at 15% alcohol, is not for those seeking subtle aromas and a wine for the dinner table but for someone who enjoys aromas of lime oil and vanilla with a hint of tropical fruit under an intense layer of ethanol. This is a wine that would do well for social events or to warm up by a fire.
