Chopin Vodka Family Reserve Review

Should you seek to splurge on a bottle of vodka, Chopin's Family Reserve is where it's at. Now, $130 may seem like a lot to spend on a category typically viewed as having no discernible character. But this is not the vodka you know. Produced using a rare variety of young potatoes grown on the Chopin  estate, the distilled spirit spends two years resting in 50-year-old Polish oak barrels prior to hand bottling. The influence of oak shows up neither in this spirit's color nor in a major way in its flavors and aromas. But the vodka's profile is notably harmonious, and subtle hints of fruit bring an enjoyable identity to its nose and precede an intense palate. With each sip lasting an age, this one's a sipper for sure.
