Chateau Ste. Michelle Canoe Ridge Estate Chardonnay 2018 Review
This wine is a study in balance of the more muscular side of Chardonnay. The fruit element is there but dominated by oak and a sense of alcohol on the nose. These two play well together though and balance each other out, making the heat of the alcohol a welcome foil to the wood exposure. The capper here is the palate, which is soft with a dry finish. The acidity here is just enough to keep the wine from going too deep. A solid rich wine from this grape.
