Château Cissac Haut Médoc 2020 Review
Bordeaux doesn’t need to be expensive. Wines from the prestigious estates that were included in the 1855 classification are for sure, but they only make up a small percentage of the wines coming from the Médoc. It's time you turn your attention to the Cru Bourgeois classification instead. These wines don't get the same attention as the most renowned Chateaux and that’s a shame. They're often just as structured and age-worthy, but available at a great value — like this example from Château Cissac. The nose is inviting with aromas of soil, dark berry fruit, and worn leather with a touch of tobacco. The palate is deep and balanced with a slight grip on the edge. This is a great value that brings everything you could want from a red Bordeaux to the table.
