Charles Krug Carneros Napa Valley Chardonnay 2017 Review
Carneros, in Napa, is known as one of the cooler spots in the AVA. This Chardonnay from old school Mondavi family member Peter really expresses that climate. At only 13.9% alcohol this not a cloying wine, it’s the polar opposite, with mineral driven green apple fruit and lemon zest being amplified by vibrant acidity. 50% of the wine is barrel fermented and lees aged to add depth, making this a Burgundy, specifically Chablis, style wine to be enjoyed with friends and sunsets, or a Spring dinner gathering.
