Casreli Qvevri Erekle's Wine 2020 Review

Started in 2017 by a group of friends working in the medical community, Casreli is a winery dedicated to the traditions of Georgian wine. This is one of their orange (amber) wines and wow does it fit the bill. It has a nose of almonds and spiced meats with a filtering aroma of orange peel and a quiet hint of butterscotch. The palate is edgy with deep fruit, great tannins, and excellent depth. It’s a wine you could sip on its own or with a feast, like the supras of Georgia.
