Capture Merlot 2019 Review
Capture is a wine project at about three thousand feet above sea level in the Mayacamas Mountian range. According to the winery, these vineyards straddle one of the peaks in this range. Up here, there’s a lot of sun and the air is a bit thin. The result is high acid wines with a ton of fruit. Their Merlot is a big one. The alcohol is high for a Merlot, but it has a good tight core of fruit with that nice mountain acidity. It’s meaty and fleshy with cherry cola on the nose for good measure.
