Bordón Gran Reserva Franco Españolas Rioja 2011 Review
Bodegas Franco-Españolas is said to be one of the largest wineries in Spain. They are one of the older players in the region, hosting the likes of King of Spain Alfonso XIII and Ernest Hemingway. Their lineup of wine is significant, but if you only have this one bottle from them you will be good to go (and will actually start seeking out more). This wine has seen a good amount of years in the bottle and is aging nicely. And at this price, it’s a steal. A nose of dried fruit and soft cherry notes welcome the palate, overlaid with an aroma of worn leather. The palate is elegant and soft with tannins having been woven in and melted away with time. A great bottle to gift or share.
