Bonterra Vineyards Merlot 2015 Review

Bonterra was doing organic before it was a hashtag. Most of what they do are legit, solid representations of the grapes or blends from their vineyards in Northern Cali. This Merlot, grown from organic grapes, is a great example of what can be good about this grape. Bright and medium bodied, everything is in its right place here. The nose is comfy and uncomplicated with fresh plum aromas and slight hints of vanilla whispering in the background, which transitions to a palate with a nice, broad mouthfeel. This is a solid organic weeknight wine.
