Benzinger Family Winery Pinot Noir 2017
Review
Monterey County (you've seen it on Big Little Lies on HBO) rarely gets about 75 degrees Fahrenheit, especially in the north, and has a beautiful, cool climate and long growing season which is great for Pinot Noir; and this wine will show you why. More balanced than most affordable Pinot Noir on the market, it has good enough acidity to showcase characteristics that made you fall in love with Pinot in the first place. Redolent of bright cherry fruit, with buoyant aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg bouncing around layers of earth and vanilla. The alcohol is a bit high, but this is a very solid American Pinot Noir that won’t kill your budget.
