Balletto Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2015 Review

There is great balance here. For fans of a little more restraint on the alcohol level this wine is a go-to in this price range. The nose welcomes with lemon, coconut and the subtlest hints of butter and pear, with a wisp of jasmine. On the palate these carry over to a broad and clean mouthfeel with soft acidity and added aromas of dill and wet rock salinity, along with a whisper of almonds and nutmeg. There is a lot going on here but with that great acidity and 13.7% alcohol everything is balanced, so you can enjoy it all and not have to deal with the hot, sweet kiss of high alcohol.
