Avinyó Rosé Reserva Brut Cava NV
Review
The Avinyó family farm has been in production since the mid-17th century. And the focus has always been on the vines. But it was in the 19th century that Phylloxera devastated the Penedès region, forcing banks to close and businesses to go bankrupt. But the family endured as the patriarch traveled to France to understand the grafting of American rootstock onto Spanish vines to avoid the Phylloxera plague. Today, their success is a testament to the family’s drive and endurance. This determination comes through in the quality of this wine. The nose is earthy with ripe fruit vibes and a savory cheese rind aroma. The palate is soft and round with well integrated bubbles and a hint of grapefruit. It’s an easy Cava with a lot of balance.
