The Story Behind The Super Bowl 50 Team-Themed Margaritas

Super Bowl 50 is this Sunday, and what better way to celebrate than with one of these festive Margaritas. When the big day comes about and you’ve invited all your friends over to watch the game, let them show which team they’re rooting for by mixing Carolina Panthers Blue and Denver Orange Margaritas; that way there is no confusion about which side of the field everyone is representing.

Hosting a Super Bowl party can be stress-free when your main attraction is a self-service Margarita bar for everyone to enjoy. The classic Margarita is a simple concoction to make, comprised of just tequila, lime juice and agave nectar. In preparation for your party, all you need to procure is a bottle of tequila (or 2), limes as necessary (each lime will generate enough juice for 2 Margaritas) and a bottle of agave syrup (or simple syrup if you prefer). The coloring comes from the addition of either orange juice or Blue Curaçao — let your guests decide which they prefer. Once you have these ingredients simply pre-juice the limes and then set up the bar so everyone can make their own Margaritas throughout the party, leaving you to enjoy the game and look like a perfect host.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of tequila
  • 1 ounce of orange juice or Blue Curaçao
  • Juice of half a lime
  • ½ ounce of agave nectar
  • 1/8 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of ice

Directions

  1. Rim serving glass with salt and then fill a cocktail shaker with tequila, orange juice or Blue Curaçao, lime juice, agave nectar, and ice.
  2. Shake mixture for thirty seconds and then strain into serving glass.
  3. Garnish with a slice of lime.
