The Story Behind The Pineapple Limeade Margarita

Although I am one of those people who believes Margarita season never truly ends, others think that once the summer months have passed, they too should move on to more alcohol-forward cocktails that warm the soul. So, while the sun is still around I wanted to create one more fun margarita for you to share with your friends, the Pineapple Limeade Margarita. Keeping with my theme of delicious cocktails made easy, this week I opted to cheat a little and use a store-bought limeade in place of the usual fresh lime juice I always recommend using. By doing this you don’t have to squeeze fresh limes and combine sugar and boiled water to make simple syrup, although you still can if you want.

This cocktail can be mixed really easily, assuming you have a bottle of tequila at home as everyone should. After a quick visit to the store to get the pineapple juice and limeade, you’re ready to go.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce pineapple juice
  • 1 ounce limeade
  • 1 cup ice

Directions

  1. Rim the coupe with salt and combine ingredients in shaker.
  2. Shake hard to chill and dilute mixture.
  3. Fine-strain into glass.
