The Story Behind The Mandarin Tiki Dream
I was obsessed with orange Creamsicles growing up. I wanted to create an homage that combines their sweet, fruity taste with Southeast Asian and Polynesian flavors. Coconut milk, lime juice, simple syrup, and white rum are all common tiki ingredients, and I think the addition of mandarin and ginger liqueur brings a nice element to the mix. This tasty cocktail definitely stands out in a crowd.
- 1 1/2 ounces white rum
- ½ ounce ginger liqueur
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 1 ounce mandarin juice
- ½ ounce simple syrup
- ¾ ounce coconut milk
- Combine white rum, ginger liqueur, lime juice, mandarin juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake vigorously to chill and combine.
- Strain over fresh ice in a Collins glass.
- Float coconut milk on top.
