The Story Behind The Long Beach Iced Tea

Sister to the notorious party starter the Long Island Iced Tea, the Long Beach Iced Tea combines some of the world's favorite base spirits — vodka, rum, tequila, and gin — into one boozy tipple. It includes cranberry juice in lieu of cola for a tart kick, reminiscent of that refreshing West Coast sunshine.

This drink is stealthy— it definitely doesn’t taste as proofy as it ought to. Clocking in at just under four ounces of liquor — equivalent to two typical cocktails — this concoction is potent and should be sipped slowly and wisely.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 ounce vodka
  • 3/4 ounce rum
  • 3/4 ounce tequila
  • 3/4 ounce gin
  • 3/4 ounce triple sec
  • ½ ounce simple syrup
  • ½ ounce lemon juice
  • Cranberry juice
  • Garnish: lemon wheel

Directions

  1. Add all the ingredients except for the cranberry juice to a shaker with ice and shake.
  2. Strain into a Collins or highball glass with fresh ice.
  3. Top with cranberry juice and garnish with lemon wheel.
