Vermont icons WhistlePig and Ben & Jerry’s have teamed up to create a new ice cream flavor line called “Whiskey Biz.”
The announcement comes as one of seven new flavors that Ben & Jerry’s is calling its “Topped” line, all of which are topped with a semi-soft layer of chocolaty ganache.
The “Whiskey Biz” flavor features whiskey caramel swirls in a brown butter bourbon ice cream base. The ice cream also arrives loaded with blonde brownie chunks, and topped with white chocolaty ganache and white fudge pieces. The caramel is made with WhistlePig’s six-year-old PiggyBack Rye.
In a Facebook post, WhistlePig thanked its Vermont neighbors for collaborating on the innovative flavor: “We’re honored to be able to announce our partnership on one of their new ‘Topped’ flavors, #WhiskeyBiz.” The pint is available now at stores nationwide for around $5.
Moët Hennessy recently acquired a minority stake in WhistlePig, increasing the Vermont producer’s global reach. Another boozy ice cream was also announced last year when Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson collaborated with Salt and Straw to create a holiday flavor spiked with his brand, Teremana Tequila.
