People are Venmo-ing Wine Money to Becca from ‘The Bachelor’

As a wise woman who looked like a pineapple once said, “Men are rats. They’re fleas on rats. They’re amoebas on fleas on rats.” As we learned today, when you combine that occasional reality with reality television, you get this: Arie from “The Bachelor” humiliating former fiancé, Becca by dumping her on national television.

In an intoxicating twist, though, the internet has responded with generosity, with fans sending the discarded bride-to-be wine money via Venmo, BuzzFeed News reports.

The scandal started when “Bachelor” star, Arie Luyendyk, Jr. proposed to the initial winning candidate, Becca Kufrin, in the season finale. A few weeks later, he changed his mind and called off their engagement, which was announced in the “After the Final Rose” television special “when the couple met up for a secret ‘happy couple weekend,’” BuzzFeed News reports.

Basically, girl needs a glass of wine. Let’s all join in pouring one out for her failed relationship, then cheersing to the fact that we will never trust a television show to pair us with our soulmate.
