For years, people have been obsessed with Michael Jordan’s obsession with golf. Now they can be obsessed with his golf course.
According to Golf, Jordan opened “The Grove XXIII” in Hobes Sound, Fla. in fall 2019. While the course has retained a fairly low profile, a video posted by Caroline Wozniacki last Saturday went viral on Instagram. In the video, a drone appears to slowly drop beer and snacks down to the golfers.
Another video tweeted by Divot Golf shows a drone delivering eight Bud Lights and two bottles of Stella Artois. It’s unclear what else is on the menu at The Grove XXIII, but visitors can count on some serious golf.
The 15,000 square foot clubhouse was designed by NBWW architectural firm to model the movement of a golf swing. The actual course has a double-helix routing so members can play nine holes four different ways. The carts go 35 miles per hour, and the caddies ride scooters.
The design is at once precise, futuristic, and reserved for only 75 permanent members. Athletes and celebrities are at times invited to play on the exclusive course, but there is no sign of the roster expanding beyond 100 anytime soon.
With such a small pool enjoying the drone-delivered beer, fans will have to crack open their homebrews from afar and wait to see what new content surfaces.
