Miller Lite Is Giving Away Beer At Bars Across Milwaukee To Toast Brewers Win

Ahead of the National League Division Series, two breweries made a sizeable wager; If the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Colorado Rockies, Coors Light would buy the first round of celebratory beers for Brewers fans. If the Rockies emerged victorious, Miller Lite would have to pick up the Rockies fans’ beer tab.

On Sunday evening in Denver, Colo., the Brewers closed out a whitewash series with a 6-0 victory, spelling free beer for Brewers fans in Milwaukee, Wisc. Between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m today, Brew City-based fans can claim their free beer at over 130 bars across the city.

Though Coors Light lost the bet, fans will be served local brew Miller Lite, WTMJ reports. The beers will be poured just in time to for the first game of the National League Championship Series, which pits the Brewers against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.

It’s no one’s loss, really, though — Coors Light and Miller Lite brands are both owned by Chicago-based MillerCoors, itself a division of Molson Coors, headquartered in both Denver and Montreal, Canada.
