Nothing puts a damper on a good mood quite like tax season. Preparing financial statements and tax returns can leave even the most enthusiastic accounting guru frustrated and in need of a stiff drink.

In order to ease the pain of this season’s tax-related trials and tribulations, Natty Light is offering free booze for anyone who turns in their completed return by July 15. (Though typically due April 15, the IRS has extended the filing and payment deadline by two months in response to the coronavirus pandemic.)

The beer giveaway comes from a partnership between Natty Light and online tax preparation platform TaxAct, according to a press release. While the process is not as taxing as filing a return, there are a few small steps involved.

Those wishing to claim their free alcohol must first file their taxes through TaxAct. They can then purchase a 24-pack of Natty Light seltzer, beer, or Naturdays, and upload the receipt and TaxAct filing confirmation to the Natty Light website. Once processed, drinkers will then receive a rebate for their purchase.

Here’s hoping that process will also be faster — and easier — than receiving a rebate from the IRS.
