Whether it arrives in iced, cold brew, or frappé form, or simply as a good ol’ cup of joe, the only way to start the day is with an extra-strong caffeine kick. Thanks to Sugarfina, the luxury confectioner that brought us bourbon, tequila, and Champagne-flavored candies, there’s a new and novel way of getting your morning fix.
The California candy company is taking a break from boozy treats and recently partnered with Los Angeles coffee shop Alfred to develop coffee-infused gummy bears. Available online and in stores now, the “Cold Brew Bears” arrive in three different flavors: cold brew, bourbon cold brew, and iced vanilla latte.
According to Sugarfina, the bears are brewed with a blend of rich, aromatic coffee. “For those who need a little something extra to get through their day,” the bourbon-flavored bears even include a “splash” of real bourbon. As for caffeine, each serving contains 60 milligrams — the equivalent of a shot of espresso.
The gummies are offered in different-sized, coffee-themed packaging, ranging from 3.5-ounce plastic mini cups, to 9.5-ounce tumblers, to 12-ounce “coffee bags.”
“We’re so excited to partner with our L.A. neighbor Alfred Coffee to create the world’s first-ever coffee-infused gummy bears,” said Rosie O’Neill, Sugarfina co-founder and co-CEO. “With this collaboration, we’re combining two of our favorite pick-me-ups – candy and caffeine – in a delicious and adorable gummy bear collection.”
While we can’t confirm if Sugarfina’s Cold Brew Bears are, indeed, the world’s first coffee-infused gummy bears, we’re most certainly looking forward to trying them.
