This year looks set to see the rise of several new lemonade hard seltzers, with Bud Light leading the charge.

After launching its first hard seltzers in early 2020, Bud Light has big plans for its new release. Come Jan. 18, the 12-can variety packs will be available nationwide and include the four flavors Original Lemonade, Black Cherry Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade, and Peach Lemonade.

In a recent email press release, the brand told fans to look forward to a seltzer brewed with real lemonade, with each 12-ounce serving weighing in at just 100 calories. The launch follows the brand’s seasonal release of “Ugly Sweater Seltzers,” which were available last winter, and included flavors like Apple Crisp and Ginger Snap.

Bud Light Launches Hard Seltzer Lemonade

Until now, Boston Beer’s Truly Hard Seltzer brand has remained relatively unchallenged in the hard seltzer lemonde space. Truly launched its Lemonade Hard Seltzer in January 2020. It quickly became one of its most successful releases, claiming a 10 percent share of the entire hard seltzer category by the end of the year, according to an email press release.

Bud Light isn’t the only brand looking to challenge Truly’s hard seltzer lemonade monopoly. In October 2020, Mark Anthony Brands, the parent company of White Claw and Mike’s Hard Lemonade, announced it was also entering the space. Mike’s Hard Lemonade Seltzer is currently poised to hit the market in March of this year.

With good reason, many predict 2021 could be the year of boozy lemonade, and we’re excited to see more products hit the market.
