Post-break up times are tough. When we’re lonely, many of us turn to the comfort of a tall glass of wine, or in the case of some imbibers, maybe the entire box. One Portland, Ore.-based artist turned his liquid therapy into a solid relationship, by constructing a “boyfriend” out of boxed wine containers.

“I do not have a boyfriend so I made one out of boxes of wine,” Michael James Schneider tweeted on Monday, via his Twitter account, @BLCKSMTHdesign. The tweet includes a series of photos depicting Schneider and his assembled lover engaging in activities any good couple would: making spaghetti, Sunday morning breakfast in bed (complete with an appearance from an adorable cat); he even took his Franzia-breasted “boyfriend” grocery shopping. (Fittingly, he named the cardboard companion“Franz.”)

Schneider told U.K.-based tabloid, Metro he built the ro-box boyfriend out of a metal armature, attached wine boxes to it, and took photos to complete the project.

He also said he often creates art when he is humiliated. “When I’m klutzy, I take photos of me faceplanting. When I’m single and lonely and drinking…well, why not create a companion out of that loneliness?”

Naturally, the post went viral, garnering nearly 20,000 re-tweets and more than 90,500 likes at press time. We can all relate to being a little lonely and a little in love with boxed wine, can’t we?
