A new TV drama chronicling the story of the Anheuser-Busch family is reportedly in the works.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, 101 Studios, the studio behind hit cable TV show Yellowstone, is developing the series entitled Under the Influence.
The show is based on the 1991 book Under the Influence: The Unauthorized Story of the Anheuser-Busch Dynasty by Peter Hernon and Terry Ganey. The series will chronicle the incredible highs and lows of five generations of the Anheuser-Busch family, who amassed a vast fortune thanks to their hugely successful beer: Budweiser.
“To have the opportunity to tell the story of one of America’s most fascinating and influential families is a thrill,” David Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios, told the Hollywood Reporter. “Peter Hernon and Terry Ganey’s riveting account of every aspect of Anheuser-Busch and its reigning family will be honored and refined in our overall vision of this phenomenal saga.”
Under the Influence promises to be a juicy tale, but details surrounding its release remain hazy with the studio still searching for a writer for the project.
