Hard seltzer sales grew triple digits in 2018, and by all accounts, that strong growth looks set to continue. Especially now that Aldi is getting involved.
In recent years, the German supermarket chain has gained a reputation for selling award-winning wines at discount prices. Now, it’s following in the footsteps of brands like Boston Beer, Constellation, and MillerCoors, by entering the hard seltzer game.
According to Delish, Aldi will start selling Vista Bay, its in-house hard seltzer brand, on May 2. There will be four flavors to chose from (ruby grapefruit, lime, black cherry, and coconut mango) and though we can’t speak to the quality just yet, the supermarket is staying on-brand by releasing them at heavily discounted prices.
Six packs of 12-ounce cans will sell for just $5.89, which seems even cheaper than, say, buying a bottle of vodka, picking up a six pack of Spindrift, and making your own home-made versions.
If that’s not enough to reel you in, did we mention each can contains just 100 calories and two grams of carbs?
