Just a short while ago, Tuesdays were nothing more than mundane Monday follow-ups. They did little but remind us that the work week is nowhere near over. That is, until Taco Tuesday came along and shook up the game. We don’t like to exclude, but if you don’t like tacos, you definitely can’t sit with us. Tacos are the perfect food to enjoy with friends; they’re informal, super delicious, and everyone can create their own custom tacos just how they like. We’ve come up with the official guide for throwing the perfect Taco Tuesday (yes, obviously tequila included).
Festive Fiesta
Your home is where the theme comes together. Some cute napkins and Spanish music will do the trick. Oh, and as the host, you need this Taco Tuesday shirt.
Welcome Drink
Upon arrival, say bienvenidos to your guests with a crisp glass of Cava and everyone’s favorite appetizer, guacamole. Get festive and serve up the appetizer in this granite Molcajete, leaving small plates on the side for each guest to serve themselves. Sparkling is a great wine to get the dinner party started; the acidity in the wine stimulates the palate, gearing everyone up for a night of eating (and drinking) ahead.
DIY Creation Station
Prep all meats, fish, and tofu in advance, as well as various toppings, and set them out in separate bowls in the kitchen or on a large table. We recommend serving up some grilled and fresh veggies, shredded cheese, and of course, various hot sauces and salsas. Don’t forget the sour cream!
Set the Table
Grab a few of these taco holders to set at each friend’s place setting — because there’s nothing worse than a soggy taco. Make sure to have various seasonings and spices available on the table. Serve up various reds and whites in these gorgeous recycled wine bottle tumblers! We recommend sticking with the Spanish theme; Albarinos, Mencias, and reds from Ribera del Duero are some of our faves.
Tequila Finale
