A Bar in New York Has Created the Next “Frosé”

Move over Frosé. You were so 2016. The new frozen alcoholic drink we’re be obsessed with this summer is the Aperol Spritz float, created by the bar Dante in New York City. A collaboration with Odd Fellows Ice Cream Co., this drink combines Aperol sorbet and sparkling rosé for a drink that just begs to be consumed outside in the sun.

Dante created the drink as part of its Summer of the Spritz cocktail program, which will feature a menu of eight different spritz variations. To create the float, Dante head bartender and co-owner Naren Young had Odd Fellows make an Aperol sorbet that still retained its alcohol. He then scoops the sorbet into a well-chilled coupe glass and tops it with refreshing sparkling rosé.

Aperol Spritz Float from Dante NYC

The initial presentation is beautiful, but the drink gets really fun after taking your first sip. As the sorbet floats in the rosé it breaks apart and the drink becomes a spritz slushie. In our opinion, this is now the only way we want to drink an Aperol Spritz, ever.
