Viña Haras de Pirque Chardonnay 2018 Review

Crisp is a tough descriptor for wine but damn if this is not one of crispiest Chardonnays out there. This wine sees some oak but it's only slightly noticeable. Ripe apple and pear greet you immediately, along with lemon zest (maybe even lemon rind). The ripe fruit notes continue on the palate with pineapple and quenching tangerine. The slight hint of banana, contrasted with a whisper of sweet acacia, shows that oak was here, but this is your only clue. The extremely high acidity and mineral driven body of the wine might even make you pucker a bit but with the right food (citrus focused salads, seafood, aged cheeses) this will be a good table companion.
