Russian River Pliny the Elder
Review
Pliny the Elder pours copper-colored, with big citrus and herbal pine notes on the nose. Following on the palate is a bitter, rounded rendition of today's DIPAs — malt sweetness and stone fruit play off of the double dose of hops (which, by weight, is minuscule compared to todays DDH DIPAs). Both malt- and hop-driven with a bit of alcohol flavor/warmth, the beer opens up as it warms to room temperature, which is ideal for this style.
Russian River Pliny the Elder Pros And Cons
