Landmark Vineyards La Encantada Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016 Review
Coming from four of the more savory-forward Pinot Noir clones (Dijon 667,777,114 and Pommard) this wine is all about a walk through the forest with flavors and aromas of dark cherry and earthy beet root along with unctuous mushroom and strap leather. There is a touch of cola coming off the back end of that dark cherry note, heightened by a hint of citrusy rhubarb. On the palate our forest jaunt continues with cinnamon and rosemary tones and the sweet wood of some good oak exposure. This is a very focused wine, except for the heat which may interfere with the ultimate harmony of your experience, but if you dig big, then this is your Pinot.
