Kvaszinger Szamorodni Edes Tokaj 2019 Review
The Furmint grape is native to this region of Hungary and the wines made in the Azu style have been around since 16th century, at least. The Kvaszinger family arrived in the 19th century from Prussia and today, László continues in his family’s tradition by tending the same vines and producing a stunning Tokaj that serves as a study in balance on the sweet spectrum. Tight honeyed fruit flecked with spice enter your senses on the nose followed by an extremely balanced palate with amazing natural acidity adding a layer of complexity. If you've not yet tried a wine of this style, this is a great place to start.
