Dutton-Goldfield Walker Hill Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2016 Review
If you’re a Cali wine geek and know about the Wente Chardonnay clone then you will love this wine as much as anybody else and a little bit more. Rich and creamy, with a nice balance of acidity, this wine shows aromas of lemon curd and ripe pineapple along with honeysuckle and some jasmine on the nose. On the palate that rich and creamy comes into focus but is kept in check by that good acidity giving the mouthfeel a calm saline minerality and amplifying a comfy tart aroma of praline. The Wente clone can make some intense wine, so it’s refreshing to enjoy this more elegant take.
