Champagne Lallier Grand Rosé NV Review
Compared to the many storied houses in Champagne, Lallier — founded in 1906 — is a new-ish comer to the region. But since then, it has been making very approachable and comparatively affordable wine that is extremely balanced and delightful. With this rosé, Lallier layers Chardonnay and Pinot Noir interchangeably in the vat. Instead of crushing them, winemakers instead allow the weight of the grapes to leech out their juice. It makes for a wonderfully soft and creamy rosé Champagne with a nose of fresh strawberries. The palate is a joy with soft bubbles and round fruit.
