Borgo Scopeto Chianti Classico DOCG 2016 Review
This wine is only $15 and packs one hell of a punch, and by punch I mean sour cherry punch. There is such vibrant cherry that all other aromas play second fiddle, forest floor and floral follow, and that’s just fine. Wines from this commune in the zone tend to be chewy and structured and this has both without being too much of one or the other. The bright and bountiful acidity calms the tannins making this wine the definition of tangy Sangiovese. There is a lot of Classico out there but if you see this one don’t even think about it; grab it.
