The Story Behind The Mistletoe Margarita

Inspired by an iconic seasonal holiday tradition, this easy-sipping Margarita cocktail riff features flavors of coconut and baking spices, including clove, ginger, and allspice.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce Don Julio Tequila Blanco
  • ½ ounce spiced simple syrup* or falernum liqueur
  • 2 ounces lime juice
  • 2 ounces coconut milk
  • ½ ounce agave syrup
  • Dehydrated lime wheel garnish

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Shake until thoroughly chilled and strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice.
  3. Garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel.

Spiced Simple Syrup Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • ¼ ounce whole cloves
  • ¼ ounce ginger
  • 1 ½ cups sugar

Spiced Simple Syrup Directions

  1. Add water to a small pot and bring cinnamon sticks, cloves and ginger to a boil.
  2. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove cinnamon sticks, cloves, and ginger and return the water to a boil.
  4. Stir in 1 ½ cups of sugar until dissolved.
  5. Let cool. Store refrigerated in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
