The Story Behind The Chili Peppercorn Tanqueray and Tonic

This riff on the classic Gin & Tonic may be what finally wins over the league of Spicy Margarita lovers — or any cocktail enthusiast who craves a little kick in every recipe. Here, simply mix up the classic serve with your favorite tonic water and a pour of Tanqueray London Dry Gin, then garnish with your preferred chili (though you may want to deseed it if you’re not popping it in whole) and a pinch of peppercorns. The garnishes will provide an extra layer of aromatics to weave in between the fragrant botanicals Tanqueray is already known for and brighten up the drink no matter where it’s served.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 ounces Tanqueray London Dry
  • 2 1/2 ounces tonic water

  • Peppercorns, for garnish

Directions

  1. Add ice to a Copa glass (or red wine glass) then pour in tonic water.
  2. Top with Tanqueray London Dry.
  3. Stir until combined.
  4. Garnish with chili and a pinch of peppercorns.
