There’s nothing better than having a drink and supporting a good cause at the same time. Union Wine Co., an Oregon producer most known for its Underwood wine in a can, is now selling a wine to raise funds for Planned Parenthood.
Union Wine Co. teamed up with the clothing retailer Wildfang to champion women’s rights with its Get It Girl wine in a can. All of the profits from Get It Girl will go to support Planned Parenthood in an effort to raise $100,000 for the organization.
The wine itself is a white blend of Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Gris, and can be purchased in four packs for $28 and twenty-four racks for $84.
“We had the idea for the wine shortly after the 2016 election,” Wildfang CEO Emma Mcilroy said according to Delish. “We wanted to make a clear statement in support of women’s rights and make some kind of positive impact. We also like to drink a lot of wine, so it felt like a match made in heaven.”
Many alcohol companies do their part to donate to noble causes (craft beer is a good example). Union Wine and Wildfang are doing their part in a big way. Profits will continue to flow to Planned Parenthood until the companies reach the $100,000 goal, so drink up.
