The obligatory gifts that circulate each holiday season are all too often lame, lackluster attempts at gratitude: candles, Christmas ornaments, baskets of candy you’re never going to eat (or worse, can’t resist). But one set of parents went above and beyond this season with a custom gift created for their son to give to his elementary school teachers: personalized wine bottles with his face pasted on the bottle in place of the label.

Talk about getting plastered. The older son of the parents, DJ Sommers (@Sommers_DJ), sent a tweet about the unusual gift that went viral this week: “My parents always get our elementary school teachers a present around Christmas. Typically something small like a candle or flower to say thank you. This year they got them bottles of wine & replaced the labels with their own with my brother on them… Happy holidays.”

News stations across the country have picked up on the tweet, from 10 News Tampa Bay Sarasota to Good Morning America. As for us, we echo the sentiments of these Twitter commenters:

@dylansdailydose: This is a real power move.

@__angelamiller: This is so amazing

@maggievecchione: Omg these parents deserve a medal

It’s just like we’ve been saying all along: all anyone ever wants for Christmas is booze. The scariest/best part: this kid’s parents were not the only ones.
