A train ride in Northeast Ohio’s Cuyahoga Valley can really set your spirits free—especially if that train ride includes wine tastings, like the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad’s Grape Escape, a two-hour tour through Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

The train, departing from either the Rockside Station in Independence, Ohio, or the Akron Northside Station in Akron, offers different options depending on the day. On Saturday, April 21, for example, lucky passengers will climb aboard to enjoy “Great Wines of the Great Northwest.” The following ride, on May 12, will make a great Mother’s Day escape, featuring two family-owned winemakers: RedHead Wine of Akron, Ohio, and L’uva Bella, based in Lowellville.

According to Only In Your State, other rides may include wines from other regions, such as Napa, Italy, or France. Each ride features five samples of wine, along with small appetizers.

Wine not your thing? The railroad also offers Ales on Rails, featuring themed beer tastings, and four-course Brunch Train Rides, which we’re hoping include mimosas. Whatever your course, start packing your bags.
