Put this in your Easter basket and gulp it: A Texas brewery has announced the release of a Peeps-infused beer in time for Easter. It’s called Peep This Collab, and it’s a collaboration between Forth Worth’s Collective Brewing Project and Lone Star Taps and Caps, a bar that bills itself as “craft beer heaven.” Coincidence? We think not.
Peep This Collab is a sour ale brewed with 30 boxes of Peeps candy, along with vanilla, and butterfly pea flower (for coloring). It’s the purple, sparkly beer of your dreams, if your dreams usually include bird-shaped marshmallows in bright colors.
The “homage to that polarizing marshmallow candy,” as the brewery calls it, is the tart, lemony, marshmallowy glitter beer that’s missing from your adult Easter basket. Oh yeah, there’s edible glitter in it. Duh. Haven’t you heard glitter beer is a thing?
“I’ve been on a kick to assert beer should be a fun thing,” Ryan Deyo, Collective Brewing Project co-founder and head brewer, said in an interview. “We make a beer with ramen noodles, so Peeps isn’t really a stretch.”
The beer will be released at the brewery on Friday, and at Lone Star Taps and Caps in Forth Worth and Lewisville on Saturday, Guide Live reports. After that, peep it at BrainDead Brewing in Deep Ellum, Craft Pride in Austin, and Hops Meet Barley in Houston the first week in April. Then, maybe go pray.
