Ever wondered what it’d be like to wear the world’s most expensive whisky? If so, you’re in luck.
As Munchies reports, a bottle of Old Vatted Glenlivet 1862 has been discovered, and it’s being savored in the most unconventional of ways. Rather than being displayed, consumed, or passed on, the whiskey is being poured “drop-by-drop” into a line of ridiculously expensive watches.
Fifty lucky watches will be christened with what is said to be the world’s oldest vintage whisky. Each will be branded and sold as a “Whisky Watch,” a hybrid creation between Wealth Solutions and watchmaker Louis Moinet. One minuscule drop of the precious booze will be placed into each limited edition watch.
And it’ll cost you. The price for the steel case version? Nearly $18,000.
If you desire one of the ten red-gold versions, you’re looking at upwards of $45,000. As per Munchies, Whisky Watch’s website claims the product is “a unique watch that not only measures time in hours, minutes, and seconds, but is also a genuine time capsule. Thanks to the watch, you can feel the spirit of the 19th-century Scotland and travel in time to the period of steamers, the early days of railway, and the Industrial Revolution.”
Right. We’re not buying it — but if you are, April 8th is your lucky day.
