Monkey Shoulder, a Scotch whisky brand that prides itself on being a mixing whisky, has a stunt to look out for this week: A giant cocktail shaker that will be touring the U.S.

“The Monkey Mixer,” a truck with a 2,400 gallon cocktail shaker (complete with Mixed Up Monkey cocktail), will kick off its journey at Arizona Cocktail Weekend in Phoenix next Saturday, February 17, before hauling across the country to visit more cities, which were not specified at press time.

The cement truck-sized cocktail mixer is over 27 feet long, 13 feet tall and eight feet wide, and can hold the equivalent of 123,000 bottles of Monkey Shoulder, according to a press release. Monkey Shoulder’s Mixed Up Monkey cocktail—Monkey Shoulder, mint syrup, soda, and lemon—will be served from the shaker chute.

The stunt aims to “challenge perceptions about Scotch whisky and redefine expectations for cocktails,” according to the release.

“Many consider whisky sacred and precious. Many take their cocktails very seriously. We respect that, but believe people should play with their whisky, and enjoy the experience,” Seb Derbomez, Monkey Shoulder U.S. ambassador, said in the press release.

Brand associate, Tobias Schopf, added that Monkey Shoulder is “made for mixing,” and that the Monkey Mixer is a great “vehicle” to transport that concept “in a big and unmistakable way.”

Big and unmistakable indeed. As for the mistakes that may be made after festival goers drink whisky out of a cement truck chute…only time will tell.
