Award-winning actor and the face of Wild Turkey’s Longbranch bourbon Matthew McConaughey has launched an off-the-grid, eco-friendly cabin in the Central Coast of Australia, and you’re invited.
Released as part of Wild Turkey’s initiative to get people to “reconnect with the wild,” the cabin (nicknamed “The Reserve”) was designed by McConaughey and Chris and Cam Grant, the founders of the tiny home startup Unyoked.
In addition to being solar-powered and built using sustainable materials, the cabin features a hidden bar, and includes several of McConaughey’s personal touches, such as vintage books and a vintage cassette stereo — all of which might come in handy as the cabin does not have Wi-Fi.
“I’ve always been in awe of Australia’s natural beauty,” McConaughey said in a statement. “My hope now is that The Reserve will inspire Australians to reconnect with nature as an antidote to the frenetic pace of life.”
The Reserve will be available to rent from December, starting at $152 per night on weekdays, and $172 on weekends. Some of the proceeds from the cabin will be donated to the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife, as will $1 from every Longbranch bottle sold during November and December.
Alright, alright, alright. Start researching flights to Australia now.
